Jarate bushwacka combo isnt impressive in a vacuum, but most of the fights in TF2 arent mge style 1v1s. Even so its a hell of a lot easier to land 1 jar and 1 swing than 2 swings. It can lead to dumb gimmicky situations, I've seen a medic in competitive get ambushed on a flank and die to a sniper in a single swing.

This puts it at a unique spot among sniper's secondaries, since most of them either provide passive protection (shields) or tend to become redundant as your rifle aim gets better (SMGs).

Of course Jarate is also great, but when I equip it it's usually because the other team has 4 pyros and people are on fire all the time. The thing about Jarate is that you lose that extra damage and protection that you get from the SGM, it's the unlock that leaves you the most vulnerable.

After recent testing in competitive 6s, most players agreed Jarate was a weapon that's bad for the game, allowing Snipers to take down Medics without actually landing so much as a bodyshot, and banned it. My assessment of the problem with Jarate is that its enormous splash makes its counterplay very low.

2011年9月27日 · Jarate + Bushwhacka is what I prefer for an active style of sniping. Jarate can be quite useful for breaking a big non-sentry defense, or slowing a big push by making everyone scatter. If you're playing less actively and sticking mostly to battlements, the SMG + Kukri tends to be the better choice.

Jarate allows the sniper to play a larger role on his team, whereas the SMG supplements your primary weapon. SMG just shoots people, which is a role already covered by your primary. Your sniper rifle is much better at being an SMG than it is at being Jarate. even if you use the Sydney Sleeper. Official vote: Jarate

Lore-wise, yes a jar of piss should be allowed in medieval mode. But game balance-wise, it would be absolutely overpowered to use in a game. Throw jarate on the point and every kill every last one of them with a single melee hit. Everybody would be playing sniper and carrying jarate.
