I remember around 2010s where me and my mates use Mozilla thunderbird and use my ISP's SMTP address to spoof an email address, pretending i'm a friend of my classmate and it looks really real. I really can't believe how easy it is to spoof email using this technique - not sure if it's still working. There's no way this method is still working.

The recipient is a higher up in my organization and that explains why he was targeted. However I don't understand how they spoofed his email. We use microsoft 365 and it immediately sent the email to junk.

2020年2月10日 · Almost everything in an email can be spoofed quite easily. They modify the email headers to show anything that they want for the email address, title, name etc. They can't spoof certain details such as sending IP address. It's very difficult to effectively block these as domain holders don't have their settings properly setup.
