Each year, Blair Castle partners with a charity, and yesterday we were proud to host our annual charity event in support of Smart Works Scotland. The Women of Blair x Smart Works Scotland event was a truly special day, filled with engaging activities. Guests enjoyed history talks, castle tours, nature walks, and a delicious lunch, all in the name of a great cause. Culross Palace is a late 16th to early 17th century merchant’s house in Culross, Fife, Scotland. The palace, or “Great Lodging”, was constructed between 1597 and 1611 by Sir George Bruce, the Laird of Carnock. The house was mainly built in two campaigns. Culross is Scotland’s most complete example of a burgh of the 17th and 18th centuries. White-harled houses with red-tiled roofs line the steep cobbled streets which run from the market cross to the hilltop abbey.
