The home of Clan MacLean, Duart Castle. Perched in the corner of the Isle of Mull it was actually built by Clan MacDougall in the 1200s and historians believe it came into the ownership of the Maclean’s the following century. Through the 1600s various battles were fought between Clan Campbell and MacLean and there is still a ship wreckage from a storm found off the coast the HMS Swan.
