Magnolia “Butterflies” is the spectacular outcome of crossing our native cucumber magnolia (Magnolia acuminata) and the Yulan magnolia (Magnolia denudata) from China. Last year, the flowers of this tree were zapped by frost before they could open. The lack of frost the last few weeks have allowed it to reach its full glory this year. Saucer Magnolia: A Staple of Spring

Today I was on untouched land with Magnificent Magnolia Trees, & Granddaddy Live Oaks that must be over 70-90 feet tall & seventy to hundred plus years old. I got to tour it with a legend & just listen to his wisdom of what types of grass and trees we passed. Even ate some wild huckleberries! This is old #florida at its best and will soon be homesites with about 25 ten acre lots to choose from.
