Pope Stephen IV had the body of his predecessor Pope Formosus dug up and placed on a throne in papal clothing to stand trial for perjury. He yelled rhetorical questions at the corpse for two hours in the mock trial before ultimately finding it guilty and throwing it into the Tibet River.
