Just one way to do it... In this video, I'm pulling a vaccum from one service connection using a 1/2" diameter hose, going from unit to pump. The Schrader core is removed for less restriction, the micron gauge is on the opposite service connection. After evacuation is complete, I add a fraction of refrigerant, add the core back in and remove the micron gauge.
