The camera work when Jack is hitting the door with an axe is unbelievable… Along with Nicholson’s total dedication to this role, you can’t help but feel uneasy while watching it. In my mind, he gave a performance that can be compared to Al Pacino’s Tony Montana. In the way that you can say it’s ‘over-the-top’ but you’d be missing the point.
