How do you like your eggs? 🍳 For us, we prefer them swimming in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary! This image isn’t an actual swimming egg, it’s an egg-yolk jelly, also known as the fried egg jellyfish. That yellow yolk-ish mass in the center is actually the jelly’s reproductive tissue. Its thin white tentacles can hang up to 20 feet below the jelly’s bell, creating a drift net that can capture its prey. What should you do if your goldfish lays eggs? For 99% of people, its honestly best to allow the fish to have a nice breakfast and go on with your day. If you’re that 1% up for the challenge, you need to either remove the parents and put them in a separate tank, or remove any plants or decor with eggs on them and put those into a separate tank. This is an example of a goldfish breed that I believe is taken too far. I am okay with breeding for aesthetics ff its still possible to give give the fish a great life with those features. For most fancy goldfish all that requires is a more simple smooth tank with less intense water flow, and they can live happy great lives, for a lot of these breeds it’s hard to create any situation in which they thrive. #fish #goldfish #aquarium #bubbleeyegoldfish | Luke’s Goldies
