We are proud to participate in conservation efforts to save the rare Piping plover! On occasion, we have been asked to care for and transport clutches of piping plover eggs laid at the Sandy Creek Island Beach State Park when their parents were predated. These eggs are transferred to and hatched at the Detroit Zoo, and the chicks will be reared at the University of Michigan until they are capable of flight.
