Purim this year was much harder for me to get into. I tried my best for the sake of the holiday, for the mitzvah and for my kids and community, but it wasn’t easy with my heart broken with the situation in Israel. But we did it! We put one foot in front of the other, smiled, prayed, laughed, cried, rejoiced, and let go. We got drunk with the intensity of the day. At the height of our celebration we stopped the music, stopped the chatter, and prayed for the hostages. Amazing how we can hold both
