Mealt Falls, sometimes known as Kilt Rock Waterfall, is probably Skye’s most unique waterfall – and certainly one of the most accessible. The outflow from Loch Mealt plunges 50 metres over basalt cliffs directly onto jagged rocks at sea level, with a concrete platform built right on the rim of the cliff providing an excellent and safe viewpoint. The even higher Kilt Rock headland to the north makes for a spectacular backdrop (yes, it does look a bit like a kilt), and the view south towards Rubha
